FREE Vision Screenings for OTC students, faculty, staff, administration and their family members ages six months and up!
In partnership with OTC, the MSU Vision Screening Program, an AmeriCorps Program, will provide FREE Vision Screenings for OTC students, faculty, staff, administration and their family members ages 6 months and up, beginning Friday, Jan. 20 in ICW 231. Screenings will take place every Friday from 11 am – 2 pm. The screening takes approximately 90 seconds using the high-tech Vision Screening SPOT Camera. The non-invasive camera takes an internal picture of the eye, identifying potential vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, unequal pupil size, and a host of other potential issues. Individuals identified as having a vision deficiency will receive a written report of the results at that time. They will be referred to the Vision Rehab Center of the Ozarks for further evaluation. The Vision Rehab Center accepts many forms of insurance, but also works on a sliding scale with individuals without vision insurance, to ensure they receive any follow-up care for frames and lenses if needed. Since the fall of 2013, the MSU Vision Screening Program has screened more than 84,000 individuals in SW Missouri.
