Public Speaking Showcase, April 9, 2026 at 6 p.m.

The Public Speaking Showcase is a competitive opportunity for students to give a short speech of inspiration on how Ozarks Tech has been the smart choice of college for them and for their academic career.

$1,000 in prizes will be awarded between the top 3 speakers:

  • 1st place: $550
  • 2nd place: $300
  • 3rd place: $150

This opportunity is open only to current students who are enrolled in COM-100 or COM-105 or who have completed either of these courses in the past. Selected finalists will have the opportunity to participate live at the Public Speaking Showcase, where a panel of judges will decide the winners!

The Public Speaking Showcase event will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 in room 103 A/B of the Plaster Manufacturing Center (PMC) on the Springfield campus.

Attendance of this event is open to all who wish to come view these inspirational student speakers.
